Greenlight

Greenlight is a social Justice initiative that sees a team of skilled volunteers go out onto the streets of London in the evenings on a medical van to offer minimal invasive medical care, and provide advice to rough sleepers.

According to recent research over 5000 different people slept rough last year on the streets of London. This doesn’t include London’s hidden homeless.

Life on the streets is far from a pleasant experience, in fact the conditions rough sleepers find themselves in are often frightening, dangerous and very degrading. Add to this the noises of the busy streets, the cold climate, and the lack of sanitation it is no surprise that rough sleepers often suffer with poor health, both physically and mentally, making if difficult to move forward in life.

Greenlight was launched to challenge this. Our aim is to meet some immediate medical needs and provide relevant education that will contribute to improving the health of London’s homeless community, aiding them in their quest to spring the trap of homelessness on their life.

I Care Revolution

The I Care Revolution is a movement of OUR GENERATION who have been moved by INJUSTICE IN OUR WORLD and who want to MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Despite the depravity of growing up in London and all the challenges we face every day of our normal lives - we can make a difference.

The "I Care Revolution" is the community youth arm of "Hillsong Church London". We believe in every young person despite their race, religion, background or experiences in life. We believe that there is potential in the emerging generation and believe that we can help release the unique potential inside every young person by offering practical help with the issues that every young person faces every day of their life.

The I Care Revolution is about changing the mind-sets of London's youth by encouraging them to be the difference. It's about telling the kids that they are not worthless and that they have a future not matter where they come from or what their background is.

Vision Rescue

Vision Rescue is a non-profit, registered charity involved in feeding, providing non formal education, medical help, skill training and other kinds of help to addicted and abused street children.

Biju Thampy founded the ministry in 2004 after seeing the enormous need and feeling compelled to step in and make a difference even if it was only for one child.

Vision Rescue now run four buses in Mumbai where children are given food and a non-formal education with the aim of graduating into vocational training, as well a medical van and a mobile dental unit. Their work has expanded out beyond helping the street children to include working with Mumbai's prostitutes, drug addicts and other vulnerable groups in the city.

Another project from Vision Rescue is the Dream Centre, a shelter and transition home for trafficked girls.

A21

When confronted with the horrific statistics surrounding human trafficking, it is easy to agree on the fact that "someone should do something." The A21 Campaign was born when the decision was made to raise our hand, and be that "someone." It was a decision of ordinary people who decided to take responsibility regarding the issue of human trafficking.

The A21 Campaign stands for abolishing injustice in the 21st century. Anyone can join - everyone can make a difference.

The A21 campaign:

• Prevents people from being trafficked
• Protects and supports those who have been trafficked
• Prosecutes traffickers, and strengthens legal responses to trafficking
• Partners with law enforcement, service providers and community members to provide a comprehensive front against trafficking

The A21 Campaign recently launched a nationwide hotline in Greece to help combat human trafficking. This hotline is a critical tool to help stop human trafficking in Europe.

The A21 Campaign’s greatest need is simply partners who commit to contributing to the on going costs of running their existing programs, be that their shelters or their prevention and protection hotline.

Compassion

Compassion is a child sponsorship organization that are committed to the spiritual, economic, social and physical development of children living in extreme poverty in 26 countries, enabling them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.

Children are clearly the greatest victims of poverty. Of the 2.2 billion children in our world today nearly half of them live in desperate conditions. But it is these children who hold the potential to break the cycle of deprivation for future generations.

Compassion has over 50 years experience of working with some of the poorest communities in the world. During that time more than one million children have been assisted by Compassion.

Watoto

Watoto is a holistic care program that was initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned and vulnerable children and women in Africa. It is positioned to rescue an individual, raise each one as a leader in their chosen sphere of life so that in turn they rebuild their nation. The Watoto model provides for physical care, medical intervention (including HIV/AIDS treatment), education (formal and vocational), counseling and emotional well being, moral and spiritual discipleship.

Watoto’s key initiatives include:

• Rescuing orphaned children
• Restoring dignity to vulnerable women
• Empowering former child soldiers and war-affected communities

As a church we're partnering with Watoto to ensure their projects can run on a consistent basis. It's one thing to have the financial injection to build one of these homes, but quite another to sustain it, which is why we want to be equally committed in the future.

The Hillsong Africa Foundation

The Hillsong Africa Foundation is a non-profit organisation that was born out of the charity arm of Hillsong Church in Cape Town, South Africa.

Over the last few years the foundation has grown in mission and in scope, and is now involved in many community projects including feeding programs, orphan care, women’s shelters, disaster relief, wheelchair distribution, substance abuse programs, job skills training centres, prison programs, and Tembaletu School.

THE HILLSONG AFRICA FOUNDATION’S mission is to give hope to the destitute by restoring families and dignity, and by ending cycles of poverty, addiction, abuse, and violence. The aims are to promote justice, mercy, accountability, restoration, and hope.
